  A shocking case of dowry harassment and marital fraud has surfaced in the Maholi police station area of Sitapur, where a man was caught while attempting his third marriage despite a dowry harassment case filed by his second wife being pending in court. The accused, Vipin, a resident of Maholi, was first married to Neetu of Hardoi. He later married Anupam from Hirapur Ganj in Sitapur’s Machrehta area. Anupam alleged that soon after the wedding, she was harassed for an additional dowry of ₹4 lakh and subjected to mental and physical abuse. She returned to her parental home within ten days. A violent clash broke out between two groups outside a pub at Garden Galleria Mall in Noida’s Sector 39 police station area on Friday night. The dispute reportedly began over dancing inside the pub and escalated after the groups stepped outside. According to police, a minor argument turned into a full-fledged fight, with both sides exchanging punches, kicks and slaps. Bystanders tried to intervene, but the scuffle continued for several minutes. A video of the incident, recorded on a mobile phone, has gone viral on social media.   A major tragedy struck Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district on Friday when a nearly 200-year-old Gird Mata Temple was completely destroyed in a massive fire in the Bharmour area. The incident occurred around 3:30 pm at Gird village under Khundel Gram Panchayat. Flames reportedly erupted suddenly and quickly engulfed the cedar-wood temple. Despite efforts by locals, the intensity of the fire left no chance to save the structure, which was reduced to ashes within a short time. Kamal Jain (25), an assistant manager with HDFC Bank in northwest Delhi, went missing late Thursday night after telling his twin brother he would reach home within 10 minutes. Hours later, his body was found in a pit in Janakpuri on Friday morning. According to family members, Kamal spoke to his brother Karan around 11:53 pm. When he failed to return and calls went unanswered, the family began searching and approached the police to file a missing complaint. They alleged the police declined to register the complaint, citing the 24-hour rule, and provided limited assistance during the night. Ghaziabad Police have arrested a woman accused of honey-trapping Sub-Inspector Jaisingh Nigam of the Shalimar Garden police station and attempting to extort large sums by threatening false cases. After a medical examination, the accused was sent to jail. According to a complaint filed by the SI’s wife, Rekha Tyagi of Shalimar Garden, along with her associates, allegedly honey-trapped the officer in June 2024.
