Agra (UP): A young woman travelling on the Marudhar Express was allegedly molested by a group of men at Agra Fort railway station, triggering outrage after one of the accused reportedly escaped from GRP custody. According to the family, when the woman objected to the misbehaviour, her brother was brutally beaten by the accused. The brother managed to catch one of the suspects and handed him over to the Government Railway Police (GRP). However, the accused allegedly went missing from police custody shortly afterwards. The victim’s family has accused the GRP of serious negligence, alleging delays in registering the complaint and claiming that the accused escaped under the watch of a plainclothes sub-inspector. Following the incident, the brother has reportedly been facing threats and intimidation. The incident has raised fresh concerns over women’s safety on trains and accountability of railway police. No official statement has yet been issued on how the accused escaped from custody.

Panki (UP): A woman who entered a relationship through Facebook was allegedly murdered in Panki’s Ramganga Enclave, with police suspecting her husband in the case. The deceased, Deepika Saini, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in her rented second-floor flat, with visible injury marks suggesting strangulation. Deep bruises were found on her neck and face, with clear thumb impressions indicating pressure on the throat. Her husband Shoaib, whom she married in October last year, is suspected to be involved and has been absconding since the incident. According to neighbours, an argument broke out between the couple on Monday afternoon. Shoaib reportedly left the flat after the fight and returned later, breaking open the door when there was no response. Satna (MP): Chaos broke out outside the Adani Cement office in Bharhut Nagar, Satna, on Sunday as hundreds of unemployed youth gathered for a recruitment drive. Aspirants from Satna, Katni, Maihar and Panna districts arrived early morning with resumes and documents, hoping to secure jobs, but the absence of a clear entry or management system led to disorder. As the crowd swelled, there was barely space to stand inside or outside the office premises. After waiting for hours without access, frustration mounted among the youth. Muzaffarnagar (UP): A 30-year-old man was allegedly strangled to death by his former girlfriend with the help of her current partner and his body dumped in a drain in Muzaffarnagar’s New Mandi area, police said on Monday. The body, found in a drain on February 1, was identified as Sanjeev alias Jeevan. Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar said the investigation revealed that Sanjeev had been in a relationship with Sonia for nearly 12 years. However, tensions escalated after Sonia began a relationship with Sadik (also known as Saddam). Police said Sadik opposed Sonia’s continued contact with Sanjeev, leading to frequent disputes. The duo allegedly conspired to eliminate him. During interrogation, both accused confessed that Sanjeev was strangled to death and his body was later dumped in the drain. Sonia and Sadik have been arrested, and further investigation is underway. Legal proceedings have been initiated.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand): At least three people were killed and more than 15 others injured after a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus plunged into a deep ditch in the Vikasnagar area of Dehradun on Tuesday morning. The accident occurred near Sudoi Khad in the Kwanu area when the bus, travelling from Chaupal-Nerwa to Paonta Sahib, reportedly lost control while giving way to a truck. Officials said the road embankment collapsed, causing the bus to overturn several times before falling into the ditch. Over 30 passengers were on board at the time. Local residents rushed to the spot and began rescue efforts. Police, district administration teams and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were later deployed to carry out relief operations. Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh): The identity of the young woman whose naked body was found in bushes under the Gobarhiya drain bridge in the PPganj police station area has been confirmed as Priya, a resident of Mumbai. Police investigations have revealed that she was allegedly murdered by her married lover Vijay and his wife Sandhya after she pressured him to marry her. According to police, Vijay, a resident of Marad Pali village under Sahajanwan police station, met Priya while working in a private job in Mumbai. The two developed a relationship and lived together. When Priya insisted that Vijay marry her and take her home, he allegedly fled Mumbai and returned to Gorakhpur. Priya later traced him to PPganj, where she discovered that he was already married and had two children. Police said Priya was willing to become Vijay’s second wife, but his wife Sandhya opposed it. Rewa (Madhya Pradesh): A late-night commotion was reported from the Dhekha area under the Civil Lines police station on Sunday, where two heavily intoxicated women created chaos on a public road. The women allegedly misbehaved with passersby, shouted abuses and attempted to vandalise parked vehicles, disrupting traffic on the busy Rewa–Satna main road for some time. Eyewitnesses said both women were so drunk that they could barely stand, repeatedly holding each other and falling on the road. As the situation worsened, locals alerted the police. After reaching the spot, police struggled to control the women before counselling them and safely dropping them home. During questioning, the women told police that a young man had called them to meet him, made them consume alcohol and later fled with their mobile phones.  Mancherial (Telangana): A shocking incident was reported from Reddy Colony in Mancherial district headquarters in the early hours of midnight, where a police constable allegedly assaulted his wife on the road while in an inebriated condition. The accused, Ravi Prasad, a constable posted at a Mancherial police station, is alleged to have brutally beaten his wife, Shireesha, following suspicion. At the time of the incident, Ravi Prasad was reportedly under the influence of alcohol and was seen in a semi-nude state on the road, causing public outrage. Shireesha, who works as a superintendent in the Gudipet Battalion, later approached the police station and lodged a formal complaint against her husband. Based on her complaint, the police have registered a case and taken up an investigation into the matter. The incident has sparked serious concerns, especially as it involves a serving police personnel, with demands for strict departmental and legal action.

Nalgonda (Telangana): A shocking incident was reported at Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) in Nalgonda after students allegedly found a gutkha packet in jeera rice served at the hostel.  The discovery triggered anger among students, who claimed that insects had also been found in the food on earlier occasions, despite repeated complaints to university staff. On Monday afternoon, students came out onto the road carrying plates and cooking utensils and staged a protest, demanding accountability. Even after Narkatpally police reached the spot, the students refused to withdraw the protest until assurances were given. UP | Greater Noida: Another incident involving a Mahindra Thar has surfaced from Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida, where a black Thar rammed into a car parked on the roadside and fled the spot. The incident took place on Monday at around 1:41 pm and was captured on a CCTV camera. The footage shows the SUV crashing into the parked car, damaging its front portion. A bike parked behind the car also toppled due to the impact and was damaged. After the collision, the Thar driver is seen speeding away without stopping. The video has since gone viral, adding to the growing list of controversies and accidents linked to the Mahindra Thar.
