Homework Horror in UP: Class 2 Student Beaten 105 Times by Teacher in Gonda
A shocking case of corporal punishment has emerged from Gonda district, Uttar Pradesh, where a Class 2 student was allegedly beaten 105 times with a stick by his teacher for not completing homework.
The incident took place on Wednesday at MRG Public School in Gumdaha, under the Colonelganj police station area. The accused teacher, Prakhar Singh (38), allegedly assaulted 10-year-old Abhishek during a Social Science class after finding his homework incomplete. Other students were left terrified as the child cried in pain.
According to the complaint, the teacher later gave the child a biscuit and threatened him with further beatings if he informed his family. After returning home in tears, the child narrated the incident to his father, Raj Prasad Goswami, who took him to hospital for first aid.
When the father approached the school to complain, he alleged that the principal scolded him and sent him away. Later the same evening, he filed a complaint at the police station. An FIR has been registered against the teacher, and the child’s medical examination was conducted on Friday.
Police said an investigation is underway. The school management has removed the accused teacher, stating that such incidents will not be tolerated.
