Aunt Elopes With 19-Year-Old Nephew, Leaves Husband and Two Children Behind
Gonda (Uttar Pradesh): A shocking case has emerged from Parna village under Itiyathok police station, where a 30-year-old married woman allegedly eloped with her 19-year-old nephew, triggering outrage and intense discussion in the area.
According to locals, the woman, Manisha, was married to Dadan Tiwari, a labourer who had earlier worked in Chandigarh. The couple married in 2016 and have two sons aged nine and four. The family was living in Parna village.
Police said Manisha had allegedly been in a secret relationship for nearly four years with her nephew Vineet Dixit, who is around 11 years younger. Two months ago, Vineet’s family reportedly objected strongly, leading to a village-level dispute. Manisha later attempted suicide but survived, after which the matter was temporarily hushed up.
On Sunday night, Vineet allegedly stayed in Manisha’s room. He was discovered the next morning hiding in a cupboard, following which villagers intervened and informed the police. At the police station, Manisha reportedly stated that she wanted to end her marriage and live with Vineet, and submitted a written statement expressing her decision.
Later the same evening, Manisha left the village with Vineet, abandoning her husband and children. Police said efforts are on to trace the duo, while the matter is being examined from legal angles.
