Woman Found Dead in Farmhouse Swimming Pool in Ramanagara; Husband Detained on Murder Allegations
A 29-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a swimming pool at a farmhouse in Kanakapura taluk of Karnataka’s Ramanagara district, prompting allegations of murder by her family.
The incident occurred at a garden house on the outskirts of Bettegowdanapalya village in Kodihalli Hobli. The deceased has been identified as Prathibha, who had been staying at the farmhouse with her family for the past few days.
Soon after the body was discovered, Prathibha’s parents accused her husband, Babu, of murdering her and dumping her body into the swimming pool to destroy evidence. They alleged that their daughter was facing marital issues, though the exact nature of the dispute has not yet been confirmed by police.
Police sources said Prathibha was Babu’s second wife, and the couple has two children.
Following a complaint lodged by the woman’s parents, Kodihalli police rushed to the spot, conducted a preliminary inspection, and detained Babu for questioning. Investigators are examining whether the woman was murdered following a domestic dispute or if she accidentally fell into the swimming pool.
Officials said the exact cause of death will be ascertained after the post-mortem report is received. A case has been registered at Kodihalli police station, and further investigation is underway.
