Train Accident or Cold-Blooded Murder? Amroha Man Strangled by Wife’s Lover, Body Dumped on Railway Track

Amroha: The death of a labourer, initially believed to be a train accident, has been confirmed as murder after the post-mortem report revealed suffocation as the cause of death. Police have arrested the deceased’s wife and her lover for allegedly killing him and staging the crime to look like an accident.

The deceased, identified as Tinku (32), a resident of Mohalla Atta in Mandi Dhanaura, Amroha, supported his family by working as a labourer. His blood-soaked body was found near the railway tracks behind the Mandi Samiti on Wednesday morning. Police initially suspected that he had been hit by a train and sent the body for post-mortem examination.

Inspector in charge Balendra Kumar said the post-mortem report confirmed that Tinku died due to suffocation, ruling out a train accident. Following this, suspicion turned towards his wife, Sangeeta, after family members raised doubts about her character and alleged foul play.

During questioning at the police station, Sangeeta confessed that her lover had murdered Tinku. Police said Nar Singh alias Dev strangled Tinku with a red cloth and later placed his body on the railway tracks to mislead investigators. After receiving information about the murder, the field unit and forensic team reached the spot and collected evidence.

Later that night, police conducted a raid and arrested Nar Singh from Manpur village under Kotwali Chandpur police station limits in Bijnor district. A murder case has been registered on the complaint of Tinku’s brother, Rajkumar, against Sangeeta and Nar Singh.

Police said Sangeeta is a resident of Sundara village in Chandpur police station area, while Nar Singh hails from neighbouring Manpur village. The two allegedly developed a relationship around 11 years ago when Sangeeta used to travel to Basta town to learn sewing. Despite Nar Singh opposing her marriage, Sangeeta married Tinku in 2020 due to family pressure. The affair reportedly continued even after marriage, and Nar Singh would visit her in Tinku’s absence.

Police also stated that Tinku was addicted to alcohol. Further investigation is underway.
