Racing Audi Turns Jaipur Street Into Death Zone, CCTV Exposes Horror
A speeding white Audi car caused a deadly accident near Kharbas Circle in Jaipur’s Journalist Colony (Patrakar Colony) on the night of Friday, January 9, 2026.
Police said the luxury car was allegedly racing another vehicle at nearly 120 kmph when it hit a road divider, went out of control and ploughed through roadside food stalls and pedestrians for about 30 metres before crashing into a tree.
At least one to two people were killed and 16 others injured. One of the deceased has been identified as Ramesh Bairwa, a roadside vendor from Bhilwara. Several victims were thrown onto the road, and more than 10 food stalls were destroyed.
Shocking CCTV footage shows the Audi mowing down people, triggering panic in the crowded area. Four critically injured victims were admitted to SMS Hospital Trauma Centre, while others were shifted to Jaipuria Hospital. Some injured were later discharged.
Police identified the driver as businessman Dinesh Rinwa from Churu. The three-month-old Audi, registered in Daman and Diu under a trust’s name, reportedly had expired insurance. The driver and two others fled the spot, though locals caught one occupant and handed him over to police. Authorities suspect the occupants were drunk.
The damaged car has been seized, and a manhunt is underway. The incident has sparked public outrage over reckless and drunk driving in Jaipur. Investigation continues.
