New Year’s Eve Turns Brutal: Married Woman Attacks Lover at Mumbai Home, Police Launch Manhunt
A shocking incident was reported from Mumbai where a 25-year-old married woman allegedly attacked her 44-year-old married lover with a knife at her residence on New Year’s Eve. The incident occurred in the early hours of December 31, 2025, when the woman allegedly invited the man to her house on the pretext of offering New Year sweets.
According to police, the accused and the victim had been in a relationship for the past six to seven years. The woman had reportedly been pressuring the man to leave his wife and marry her, which led to frequent disputes between them. Disturbed by the situation, the victim had gone to Bihar in November 2025. Police said that during this period, the woman allegedly continued to threaten him over phone calls.
After returning to Mumbai on December 19, the victim reportedly distanced himself and avoided contact with the woman. However, on December 31 at around 1.30 am, she allegedly called him to her house while her children were asleep. Police said that during the meeting, the woman suddenly attacked him with a knife, causing serious injuries.
Despite excessive bleeding, the injured man managed to return home. His sons and friends immediately rushed him to VN Desai Hospital, from where he was referred to Sion Hospital for further treatment. Doctors said the injuries were severe and surgery may be required.
Police have revealed that the accused woman is the sister-in-law of the victim’s sister, adding a family link to the relationship. A case has been registered, and the woman fled the spot after the incident. She remains absconding, and police teams are conducting searches to trace her.
Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
