“My Bike, My Rules”: Bengaluru Biker Arrested After Road Rage Video Goes Viral
The Bengaluru City Police have arrested Sameer, a resident of Kadirenahalli, after a road rage incident in which he allegedly declared “my bike, my rules” following a near-accident at a busy city junction.
The incident occurred at the Dickenson Road signal on January 26 (Republic Day), when Sameer allegedly jumped a traffic signal and nearly collided with a car driven by M.N. Praveen, a city resident.
According to the FIR, when Praveen questioned the traffic violation, the biker reacted aggressively, abused him verbally, and allegedly reached into the car through a partially open window and attempted to slap him, while also issuing threats.
The confrontation was recorded on Praveen’s mobile phone, and the video later went viral on X, drawing widespread public outrage. The footage shows the biker chasing the car briefly, attempting to hit the driver twice, as traffic piled up and other motorists honked.
Following the complaint and viral backlash, Commercial Street Police registered a case and arrested Sameer on charges related to assault, verbal abuse, and traffic violations.
Police said the case highlights the growing concern over road rage incidents in Bengaluru, particularly on congested city roads, and reiterated the need for strict enforcement of traffic rules to ensure public safety.
