Mother Leaves 18-Month-Old Child Behind, Disappears from Chhatarpur; Police Trace Woman

A case has emerged from the Lavkush Nagar police station area in Chhatarpur district, where a woman allegedly fled from her in-laws’ house, leaving behind her one-and-a-half-year-old child.

According to the family, the woman, identified as Suman, went missing around 11 am on Wednesday. After failing to locate her among relatives and nearby areas, the family informed her parents and later lodged a complaint with the police. The in-laws alleged that she eloped with her lover and left the house with a mobile phone, cash, and jewellery.

Suman was married three years ago and had come to her in-laws’ house about 25 days ago. Her husband currently works in Surat, where she had been living with him earlier.

The abandoned child has been crying continuously, causing distress to the family. The woman’s mother-in-law and brother-in-law filed a missing person report at Lavkush Nagar police station.

Police later traced the woman and brought her to the police station for recording her statement. Lavkush Nagar SDOP Naveen Dubey said the matter is under investigation and all aspects are being examined.
