Mother Kills 11-Year-Old Son, Stabs Daughter in Pune; Child Murder Shocks Wagholi


A horrific case of child murder has been reported from Pune, where a woman allegedly killed her 11-year-old son and seriously injured her teenage daughter by attacking them with a knife. The incident occurred at a residence on Baif Road in the Wagholi area.


According to police, the accused woman slit the throat of her son, killing him on the spot, and repeatedly stabbed her 13-year-old daughter. The house was found covered in blood. The injured girl was rushed to a hospital, where she is undergoing treatment and remains in critical condition.


The accused has been identified as Soni Santosh Jaybhay, a native of Kandhar in Nanded district, who was residing with her family in Wagholi. The deceased child has been identified as Sairaj Santosh Jaybhay, while the injured girl is Dhanashree Santosh Jaybhay.


Police have arrested the woman and registered a case in connection with the incident. The motive behind the attack is not yet clear. Investigators are probing whether the act was linked to a family dispute or mental stress.


The incident has sent shockwaves across the locality. Police said further investigation and questioning of the accused are underway to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the crime.
