Lucknow News: Pregnant woman dies in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, murder alleged
The suspicious death of 26-year-old software engineer Aiman Khan from Lucknow in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, has sparked serious allegations of dowry harassment and murder. Aiman died on December 18, 2025, but her family claims she was killed by her husband and in-laws, who are attempting to project the incident as a suicide.
Aiman’s body was brought to Lucknow on January 13, 2026, after 27 days. The family alleged that visible injuries, including deep belt marks on her back and wounds on her thighs, indicated prolonged physical abuse. Her father, Sher Ali, subsequently lodged an FIR at Chinhat police station, accusing her husband Aamir Khan, his brother Umair, brother-in-law Rashid, and Mohammad Rafi of dowry death.
Who was Aiman Khan:
Aiman Khan lived in Adarsh Vihar Colony on Malhaur Road in Lucknow. A B.Tech graduate in Computer Science, she was working as a software engineer and was pregnant at the time of her death. Her father is a sub-inspector in the fire department. According to the family, her life took a tragic turn after marriage.
From love marriage to dowry allegations:
Aiman married Aamir Khan, an engineer from Rae Bareli, on April 10, 2025. It was a love marriage, solemnised with family consent at a hotel in Lucknow. However, the family alleges that dowry demands began soon after the wedding.
According to Sher Ali, the dowry included 14 tolas of gold jewellery, five pairs of silver anklets, furniture worth Rs 3 lakh, electronic goods worth Rs 3 lakh, and household items worth Rs 1 lakh. A Kia Seltos car was also given, but Aamir was reportedly unhappy as it was not registered in his name. The family alleged that he broke Aiman’s iPhone over the issue.
On April 29, 2025, Aamir left for Saudi Arabia for his job with APPLUS. Aiman joined him in Jeddah in June 2025.
Allegations of torture in Saudi Arabia:
The family alleged that soon after Aiman reached Jeddah, she was subjected to mental and physical torture by Aamir and other relatives. They allegedly demanded Rs 20 lakh and threatened to kill her if the demand was not met.
Sher Ali claimed that Aamir stopped Aiman from joining a job she had secured, denied her food and water, threw her out of the house, and confiscated her passport and iqama. Aiman reportedly informed her family about the abuse through phone calls.
In October 2025, she returned to India and narrated the alleged torture. After assurances from Aamir that the harassment would stop, she went back to Jeddah on October 19, 2025. The family said the abuse continued thereafter.
Death under suspicious circumstances:
Aiman last spoke to her family on WhatsApp on December 17, 2025. The next day, she stopped responding to calls. Later, the family was informed that she had died, with Saudi police present at the scene.
The family alleged that Aiman was murdered and her body was staged to look like a suicide. They claimed her pregnancy strengthened the suspicion of foul play.
Body brought to Lucknow, FIR registered:
After legal formalities, Aiman’s body was brought to Lucknow on January 13, 2026. The family alleged multiple injury marks, including signs of beating with a belt. The body was sent for postmortem examination, and the cause of death will be confirmed after the report.
Based on the complaint, Chinhat police registered an FIR under IPC Section 304B (dowry death). Inspector Dinesh Chandra Mishra said an investigation is underway and further action will depend on the postmortem findings. Aamir is currently in Saudi Arabia, and efforts are being made to bring him back to India.
