Kannauj: Woman Slaps Two Trainees After Photo Shared With Objectionable Caption at FFDC

A tense situation unfolded at the Flavour and Fragrance Development Centre (FFDC) in Kannauj after a young woman allegedly slapped two male trainees for misusing her photograph during an incense stick–making training programme. A video of the incident has surfaced and is now circulating widely on social media.

The incident took place at the FFDC-operated Small Industries Centre in the Makarandnagar industrial area, under the jurisdiction of Sadar Kotwali. Young men and women from the city are enrolled there for incense stick manufacturing training.

According to reports, two trainees—Anas (25) and Azim (28)—were part of the programme. During the training period, Anas allegedly befriended a female trainee and later deceitfully took a photograph with her. It is alleged that Anas added an offensive caption to the photograph and shared it with Azim.

On January 19, Azim reportedly showed the photograph with the objectionable caption to other trainees at the centre. When fellow trainees informed the woman about the incident, she confronted Anas inside the training hall and demanded an explanation and apology. During the confrontation, she allegedly slapped Anas repeatedly. She is also reported to have slapped Azim when he was found involved in circulating the photograph.

FFDC staff intervened promptly and managed to calm the situation by demanding an apology from the accused trainees. In a video that has since gone viral, Anas can be seen apologising with folded hands and saying, “I made a mistake. This will not happen again.” When questioned about his intentions, he remained silent and continued apologising.

Following the incident, anger spread among other trainees, who condemned the misuse of the woman’s photograph.

FFDC Response:

FFDC management has taken the matter seriously and is preparing for appropriate action. Officials stated that maintaining discipline during training is mandatory and that taking photographs of female trainees without consent amounts to serious misconduct.

FFDC Deputy Director Amod Kumar Singh said that accurate information would be provided by the Assistant Director. However, Assistant Director Nadeem stated that he was not aware of the incident at the time of inquiry.

Public Reaction:

The viral video of the altercation has sparked widespread debate on social media. Many users have described the incident as a matter concerning women’s dignity and are demanding strict action against those responsible for circulating the photograph.
