Indian-Origin Woman Murdered in US, Accused Friend Arrested in Tamil Nadu After Fleeing America

A shocking murder case involving an Indian-origin woman has come to light from the United States. Nikita Godishala (27), who was living in Columbia, Maryland, was found murdered, with police suspecting her close friend Arjun Sharma (26) as the prime accused.

Nikita was reported missing on December 31 after Arjun Sharma approached the police, claiming he was the last person to see her in Ellicott City. However, his sudden departure to India after filing the complaint raised suspicion.

Following this, US police obtained a search warrant and searched Arjun’s apartment, where Nikita’s decomposed body was recovered. Multiple stab wounds were found on her body, confirming she had been brutally murdered.

Police identified Arjun Sharma as the main suspect and sought assistance from federal agencies after it was discovered that he had fled to India. Nikita is reported to have roots in the Secunderabad area.

In a major development, INTERPOL, in coordination with Indian agencies, arrested the accused Arjun Sharma in Tamil Nadu. Further legal proceedings and extradition formalities are underway.
