Horror in Firozabad: Wife & Lover Kill Husband, Head Thrown in Borewell | Accused Shot in Encounter


A gruesome murder has come to light in Firozabad district, where a woman allegedly strangled her husband to death with the help of her lover and his friend. The accused later beheaded the victim, threw the head into a borewell and concealed the torso inside a tubewell chamber. Police cracked the case within 24 hours and arrested the wife, her lover and his accomplice.


The incident occurred in Jakhai village under the Narkhi police station area. On Sunday, villagers spotted a decapitated body inside a tubewell and alerted the police. The body was identified as Saurabh Singh (26), a resident of the same village, who had been missing for the past three days. Saurabh’s elder brother Mithun, who reached the spot, expressed suspicion over Saurabh’s wife and a friend, giving police a crucial lead.


Following the recovery, SSP Saurabh Dixit constituted multiple teams from Narkhi, Pachokhra and Ramgarh police stations. Investigators analysed call detail records, mobile locations and personal relationships. The probe revealed that Saurabh’s wife, Preeti, had been in a relationship with Suraj since 2022. Police said the two viewed Saurabh as the main obstacle in their relationship.


According to the police, Preeti and Suraj conspired to kill Saurabh. On Sunday night, when Saurabh went to the fields and lay down at the tubewell, Preeti informed Suraj over the phone. Suraj arrived at the spot along with his friend Salman. The two allegedly strangled Saurabh with a towel, beheaded him using a sickle, threw the head into a borewell and hid the torso in the tubewell chamber before fleeing.


SP City Ravi Shankar Prasad said that on Monday morning, police received information about Suraj’s movement near Shriram Garhi. During a checking operation, Suraj was spotted with an accomplice. When asked to stop, he allegedly opened fire. Police retaliated, injuring Suraj in the leg, and arrested him. His accomplice Salman, a resident of the same village, was taken into custody at the spot.


Police further stated that Saurabh was married in 2014. As his wife was a minor at the time, she was sent to her parental home and returned after attaining adulthood. In 2022, she had filed a dowry harassment case against Saurabh and stayed at her parents’ house for nearly two years. After a compromise, she resumed living with him. The couple has a two-and-a-half-year-old son.


Saurabh worked as an auto driver, while Suraj is a labourer. Further legal proceedings are underway.
