Homework Horror: Bengaluru Teacher Accused of Brutally Beating Class 4 Student
Bengaluru: A case has been registered at the Nandini Layout police station against a private school teacher for allegedly assaulting a Class 4 student for not completing his homework. The incident reportedly took place at Veena School in Laggere Lakshmidevinagar.
The complaint has been filed by the victim’s mother against teacher Angelina and the school’s Human Resources (HR) officer. Based on the complaint, police have issued a notice to the teacher, asking her to appear for questioning.
According to the mother, her son, who studies in Class 4 and stays at a hostel near Laggere, was beaten by the teacher on January 10. She alleged that the teacher assaulted the child on his hands and legs, leaving visible bruises, and threatened to strangle and kill him if he informed his parents about the incident. The child reportedly suffered severe pain following the assault.
The mother said she visited the school on January 12, when her son broke down and narrated the ordeal. She then informed the school’s HR department, which summoned the teacher. However, she alleged that no strict disciplinary action was taken.
The child is said to be traumatised by the incident and has refused to return to school. According to the mother, he lives in constant fear that the teacher is still present at the school and may assault him again. She claimed her son told her, “I will die if you force me to go to school.”
The mother has demanded strict action against the teacher for assaulting her minor son and against the HR officer for alleged negligence in handling the matter. Police said further investigation is underway.
