High Drama in Aligarh: Woman Clashes with BJP Leader Gaurang Tiwari Inside Police Station
Aligarh witnessed high drama on Sunday afternoon after a long-running dispute between BJP youth leader Gaurang Tiwari and a young woman escalated into a public scuffle and later a confrontation inside a police station. The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Delhi Gate police station.
According to information, Gaurang Tiwari, a BJP youth leader from the Railway Road area, was passing through the Ghudiabagh locality on January 11, 2026, along with some senior BJP leaders, when he came face to face with the young woman, with whom he has an ongoing dispute. A heated argument soon turned into a physical scuffle on the street, drawing a crowd of locals. No serious injuries were reported.
Sources said the woman had earlier accused Tiwari of luring her, following which a complaint was registered at the police station. Three additional complaints were also filed by the woman and her mother. After the street altercation, police intervened and brought both parties to the Delhi Gate police station.
The situation took a dramatic turn inside the police station. Videos circulating on social media show BJP leaders making Tiwari sit on a chair inside the SHO’s room, which allegedly angered the woman and her mother. The woman was seen shouting slogans and accusing the BJP leader of misuse of power, while her mother waved and allegedly threw a slipper, demanding justice. Police personnel and women constables were seen trying to calm the situation.
In the viral footage, the woman can be heard saying, “Don’t touch me, I am a victim, not a politician,” while accusing the BJP leader of hooliganism under the ruling government. The video has been widely shared, triggering political reactions and accusations of bias against the BJP’s youth wing in Aligarh.
SHO Ishwar Singh said that both parties were involved in a physical altercation and have levelled allegations against each other. “Both have been sent for medical examination. Further action will be taken based on written complaints and medical reports. No bias will be tolerated,” he said.
Police later clarified that the matter is linked to a long-standing domestic dispute and is under investigation. Meanwhile, the incident has raised questions about political influence and law-and-order handling, even as BJP supporters describe it as a personal dispute, while the woman’s family continues to demand justice.
