Gwalior Pipeline Burst: Urban Green City Flooded, Houses Damaged | Latest News

A major water pipeline burst in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior late on Saturday night, cracking open the ground and flooding an entire residential colony. The incident occurred in the Urban Green City area and created panic among residents.

CCTV footage of the incident later surfaced, showing the ground in front of a house suddenly splitting apart, followed by water gushing out and spreading rapidly across the locality. Due to intense water pressure, cracks developed in nearly a dozen houses.

Platforms outside several homes collapsed, household items kept outside were damaged, and many houses were partially submerged. Terrified residents rushed out of their homes and are now reluctant to return, fearing further collapse as the ground has weakened.

Local residents said they first heard a loud blast-like sound. When they came outside, they found the entire road flooded, with water entering multiple houses.

On receiving information, the municipal commissioner reached the spot and ordered the water supply line to be shut down.

However, residents expressed strong anger over what they described as poor-quality water pipelines, warning that such negligence could lead to a major accident in the future.
