Gunpoint Robbery in Bengaluru: Jewellers Looted Near Dasanapura, Minor Son Injured

A daring daylight robbery was reported at Ramdev Jewellers near the Dasanapura bus stand in Nelamangala, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, late Tuesday evening, leaving the shop owner’s family shaken and a minor injured.

According to police, the incident occurred around 5.30 pm when three unidentified assailants arrived on a two-wheeler and barged into the jewellery store. One of the accused allegedly brandished what appeared to be a pistol and threatened the staff.

At the time of the incident, the shop owner, Manik Raman, was not present, and the shop was being managed by his two sons. When they attempted to resist, a scuffle broke out, during which one of the sons, a minor, sustained injuries.

The robbers fled the spot within minutes. As per the complaint lodged at Madanayakanahalli police station, the accused escaped with around 30 grams of gold ornaments and ₹50,000 in cash.

Police have registered a case and formed multiple teams to trace the culprits. CCTV footage from the shop and nearby areas is being examined to track the escape route of the motorcycle.

D.L. Nagesh, Deputy Commissioner of Police, North West Division, said the police are verifying whether the weapon used was a real firearm or a replica and added that several leads have been obtained.
