Ghaziabad Horror: Wife Cuts Off Husband's Tongue After Argument Over Cooking | Modinagar
A shocking incident has been reported from Sanjaypuri Colony in Modinagar, Ghaziabad, where a woman allegedly cut off her husband’s tongue following a domestic dispute over cooking.
The incident occurred late Monday night. The victim, Vipin (26), works in a factory and lives with his wife Isha and mother Geeta. Vipin and Isha were married in March 2025, around ten months ago.
According to the family, Vipin returned home from work on Monday night, after which dinner was prepared. Later, Vipin and Isha went upstairs, where an argument reportedly broke out around 11 pm over the quality of food. During the quarrel, Vipin allegedly told his wife that she could not cook properly, which angered her.
Vipin’s mother, Geeta, said she initially considered it a routine husband-wife argument. However, around 1 am, Isha allegedly went to the kitchen, brought a vegetable knife, and threatened to cut Vipin’s tongue. In a fit of rage, she allegedly forced his mouth open and severed his tongue.
Bleeding profusely, Vipin ran downstairs crying and reached his mother. Neighbours were alerted, and he was rushed to a hospital in Modinagar, from where doctors referred him to Subharti Hospital in Meerut for advanced treatment. The family also carried the severed part of the tongue to the hospital. Doctors have stated that further medical steps will be decided after surgery. Vipin is currently unable to speak.
After the incident, Isha reportedly locked herself inside a room and did not come out throughout the night. On Tuesday morning, as news spread, relatives and neighbours gathered outside the house. When Isha came out, she was allegedly beaten by some people present. A person from her maternal family who arrived later was also assaulted.
Isha reportedly claimed that she worked all day and was still subjected to harassment and criticism by her husband over food.
Confirming the incident, SHO Modinagar Anand Prakash said that no formal complaint has been received so far. He added that police action will be taken once a complaint is filed
