Fear Inside Pizza Shop: Young Couple Jumps From Second Floor After Alleged Harassment in Shahjahanpur

A young man and a woman sustained serious injuries after they jumped from the second floor of a pizza restaurant in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, allegedly out of fear when members of a Hindu organisation confronted them.

The incident took place on Saturday evening at Pizza 99 restaurant in Akarkara Rasulpur area under the Kant police station limits, near Bareilly Morh. The couple, aged 21 and 19, was sitting together at the restaurant when several individuals arrived and allegedly questioned them, asked for identity cards and inquired about their caste.

According to police sources, the couple told the group they were Hindus. It is alleged that some people then began filming them, which caused panic. In fear, the young man reportedly pulled out a window bar and jumped from the second floor. The woman also jumped soon after. Both were seriously injured and admitted to a private hospital.

The youth, Vishal, later alleged that the filming and questioning frightened them, forcing the couple to take the extreme step. Based on his complaint, police have registered an FIR against Pravesh, Sonu, Harshit and four to five unidentified persons.

Shahjahanpur SP Rajesh Dwivedi said police reached the spot immediately and are investigating the matter. He added that strict action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
