Drunk to Enforce the Law? UP PRV Cops Caught Intoxicated, Torch Mistaken for Liquor Bottle in Viral Video

A shocking incident involving allegedly intoxicated police personnel has come to light from Jalaun district in Uttar Pradesh, where a PRV (Police Response Vehicle) team sent to handle a dispute was itself found drunk. One of the policemen was seen mistaking a torchlight for a liquor bottle and putting it to his mouth, a moment captured on video that has since gone viral on social media.

The incident occurred in Babina village under the Kadaura police station area, where the PRV team had reportedly arrived to pacify a drunken man and resolve a land dispute between two brothers. However, instead of calming the situation, the police personnel allegedly escalated it.

According to eyewitnesses, the police team was heavily intoxicated and brutally assaulted a drunk youth at the spot. During the episode, a visibly exhausted policeman was seen attempting to drink alcohol, mistakenly lifting a flashlight to his mouth, while another policeman stood nearby and appeared to assist the inebriated individual.

Women present at the scene recorded the incident on their mobile phones. The videos later surfaced on social media, triggering widespread outrage and raising serious questions about police conduct.

Responding to the incident, Jalaun Police stated that the matter has been taken seriously. Officials said that the Circle Officer (CO) Kalpi has been directed to conduct an investigation and take necessary action against those found guilty.

Further action is awaited based on the outcome of the inquiry.
