Drunk Cops or False Claims? Ghaziabad Man Accuses Policemen of Misconduct, Threatens March to CM’s Office

Questions have once again been raised over police conduct in Ghaziabad following an incident reported from the night of December 21 in the Modinagar police station area. A local resident has alleged misconduct by two policemen on Niwari Road.

According to the complainant, two policemen were allegedly consuming alcohol inside a car along with a woman, which was parked outside his house. When he objected and asked them to remove the vehicle, he was allegedly abused by the policemen and the woman present with them.

The victim further alleged that after he recorded a video of the incident, he was pressured to delete it and threatened with being implicated in a false case. He has accused the police of attempting to suppress the matter and claimed that a fraudulent settlement was forced upon him.

The complainant has submitted a written complaint to the Police Commissioner and warned that if he does not get justice, he will walk to the Chief Minister’s office along with his family. A video related to the incident has also gone viral on social media, in which a woman is allegedly seen abusing.

Responding to the matter, Ghaziabad Police said that based on the written complaint received at Niwari police station, an FIR has been registered under relevant sections. The investigation is being carried out by Modinagar police station.

Police officials added that regarding the remaining allegations, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Modinagar, has been directed to conduct an inquiry into the matter. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
