Bakery Turns Crime Scene: Woman Slashed with Knife in Public View, CCTV Horror Shocks Ahmedabad

A shocking knife attack was reported from the Behrampura area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, where a young man allegedly assaulted a married woman with a large, sword-like knife inside a bakery while she was shopping. The incident, which occurred in full public view, was captured on CCTV and has since gone viral on social media, triggering widespread fear and outrage.

According to police, the woman sustained injuries to her hands while trying to defend herself and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors said her condition is stable and the injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

CCTV footage shows the woman standing inside the bakery when the accused approached her and questioned why she was roaming alone and why she was not talking to him. When she refused to respond, the man allegedly lost his temper, pulled out a knife and attacked her repeatedly. The video shows him striking her around four times as she tried to dodge the blows and move away.

Panic broke out inside the shop within seconds as customers and locals rushed in. The bakery owner can be seen in the footage giving the injured woman a cloth to tie around her bleeding hands as she cried in pain. She was later taken to hospital for medical treatment.

Police identified the victim as Tamanna Mohsin Sheikh and the accused as Rahim, also known as Noman Latif Sheikh. According to police sources, the two had known each other for a short period after Tamanna’s divorce. Their relationship deteriorated after she remarried Mohsin, following which several disputes arose. Multiple cases related to the matter are currently pending in court.

Police further revealed that the accused had earlier attempted to attack the woman’s relatives with swords in a separate incident, which is also sub judice. Tamanna had earlier stayed at her grandmother’s house, where she came in contact with Rahim. After her remarriage, she cut off all communication, which allegedly led to repeated confrontations.

On the night of the incident, Tamanna had gone to a shop near her aunt’s house when the accused arrived. When she ignored him, he allegedly abused her verbally before launching the knife attack.

A formal complaint has been registered, CCTV footage has been seized, and police teams are conducting raids to trace and detain the accused. Authorities said strict legal action will be taken as per law.

The incident has sparked widespread anger on social media, with many users raising concerns over women’s safety, repeat offenders, and the lack of real-time monitoring despite the presence of CCTV cameras. Police have urged people not to spread rumours or hateful content and assured that the case is being dealt with seriously.
