Ayyappa Mala, Second Marriage Dispute Ends in Murder? Woman’s Body Found in River in Hassan

A shocking murder case has been reported from Yadur village in Alur taluk of Hassan district, where a man allegedly killed his first wife for questioning his second marriage and dumped her body in a river.

The victim, Radha (40), had been living separately from her husband Kumar for the past four years. The incident reportedly took place on the night of January 10.

According to the complaint, Kumar had observed the Ayyappa vow in the first week of January and was wearing the sacred mala. While preparations were underway to tie the irumudi for his Sabarimala pilgrimage, Radha noticed that another woman had performed the ritual worship reserved for the wife. She allegedly came to Yadur on January 10 to question this.

An argument reportedly broke out, following which Kumar and his family members allegedly murdered Radha, as claimed by her family.

On Monday, Kumar allegedly confessed to the police that he had killed Radha and thrown her body into the Yagachi River near Kandali in Hassan taluk. Police conducted a search on Tuesday and recovered the body.

A case has been registered at Alur Police Station. The accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway.
