AP BJP MLA’s Son Arrested in Hyderabad Drug Raid, Political Row Erupts Across Two States
Sudhir Reddy, son of Jammalamadugu BJP MLA Adinarayana Reddy from Andhra Pradesh, has been arrested in Hyderabad after testing positive for drugs during a police raid. The incident has sparked political controversy in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The action was taken on Saturday during a targeted anti-drug inspection conducted by Telangana Police’s special EAGLE team along with Narsingi police in the Nanakramguda–Narsingi area of Hyderabad. During the operation, Sudhir Reddy was found at the spot and subjected to medical tests.
According to police officials, the test results confirmed drug consumption, reportedly involving marijuana or other narcotics. Following the positive result, police registered a case against him under relevant provisions related to drug use.
Sudhir Reddy was later shifted to a de-addiction centre for further observation and treatment. Another person who was present with him during the raid was also taken into custody for questioning.
Adinarayana Reddy is a BJP MLA from Jammalamadugu in Andhra Pradesh, and the arrest of his son in Hyderabad has drawn significant attention beyond Telangana. Local media reports say the case has become politically sensitive, with renewed questions being raised over repeated drug-related allegations and the ongoing crackdown on narcotics networks in Hyderabad.
Further investigation is underway.
