Woman Begging With Child Detained by Traders on Suspicion in Agra’s Kotwali Area


Suspicion prevailed in Agra’s Kotwali police station area after local shopkeepers detained a woman who was begging with a small child in the gold and silver market. The incident took place on December 18, 2025, at around 3.06 pm.


According to traders, the woman’s presence with the child raised doubts. When questioned about the child, she reportedly became extremely nervous and failed to give a clear or satisfactory explanation. Her behaviour further strengthened the suspicion of the shopkeepers that the child might not be hers.


Local shopkeeper Shubham Soni immediately informed the Kotwali police about the matter. Police reached the spot and took note of the situation.


Agra Police said the station in-charge has been directed to investigate the case thoroughly and take necessary action based on the findings. Further details are awaited as the probe continues.
