Caught on Camera: High-Speed Car Mows Down Bike on Vijayawada Highway, Riders Thrown Into Air

A serious road accident was reported on the Vijayawada–Penamaluru National Highway in the Nappalli area on Tuesday morning, with CCTV footage of the incident now coming to light.

The accident occurred at around 11.36 am when Syed Asif Basha and Pathan Maqbul, residents of Nappalli village, were travelling on a two-wheeler. As they attempted to take a right turn on the National Highway, a car approaching from the opposite direction rammed into them at high speed.

The car, which was travelling from Vijayawada towards Machilipatnam, hit the two-wheeler with such force that both riders were thrown into the air before crashing onto the road. Asif sustained serious head and leg injuries, while Maqbul also suffered injuries in the impact.

Following the collision, the car came to a halt. Local residents immediately alerted emergency services, and the injured were shifted to Vijayawada Government Hospital. Doctors have confirmed that both victims are currently in stable condition.

The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed at a nearby shop, clearly showing the impact of the crash. The footage highlights the dangers of speeding, especially near crossings on national highways.

Experts have pointed out that many road accidents occur at intersections due to vehicles failing to slow down while entering populated or crossing zones, leading to severe consequences.
