Agra Police Arrest Drug Mafia Vivek in Fake Medicine Racket, Sent to 14-Day Remand


In a joint operation by the police and the drug control department, a key accused in a counterfeit drug racket, identified as Vivek, was arrested from Puducherry and brought to Agra, Uttar Pradesh.


Vivek, the owner of Aman Pharma, is accused of operating a fake drug manufacturing unit in Puducherry and supplying spurious medicines to Agra and nearby districts. After his arrest, police produced him before a court, which remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody.


Earlier, in a raid conducted under the Kotwali police station limits, authorities had seized counterfeit medicines worth around ₹71 crore. Subsequent investigation revealed that the entire network was being run from Puducherry, with large consignments regularly dispatched to Agra and surrounding areas.


Further investigation is underway to identify other members involved in the racket and trace the distribution network.
