UP Cop’s Illicit Affair Turns Fatal: Sub-Inspector Arrested for Brutal Murder of Married Lover in Hamirpur
A shocking crime in Hamirpur district, Uttar Pradesh, has raised serious questions about the conduct of the UP Police, after a serving sub-inspector was arrested for the murder of his girlfriend. The sensational case was solved within two days.
According to police, SI Ankit Yadav, posted at Kabrai police station in Mahoba, killed his lover Kiran Singh, a married woman from Mahoba. He allegedly beat her to death with an iron rod, stripped the body, stuffed it in a sack and dumped it along the Maudaha–Rath road near Ramna village. Passersby spotted the corpse being torn apart by stray dogs on November 13.
Three police teams were formed and soon identified the woman as Kiran Singh. Call records revealed her connection with SI Ankit, who was arrested from his official quarters on Sunday.
Police said the two went out for a drive on November 12. An argument broke out, and the enraged officer killed her using an iron rod kept in the car. Postmortem confirmed a fractured skull and marks of strangulation.
Kiran, whose husband Vinod is a CRPF jawan, had earlier filed a dowry harassment case against him and his family. SI Ankit was the investigating officer in that case, during which he grew close to her. Kiran’s family alleges that Vinod and his relatives may have colluded with the officer to eliminate her.
Ankit Yadav, a 2023 batch SI from Rae Bareli, comes from a police family — his father is also a sub-inspector posted in Varanasi.
Police are now probing all angles, including the family’s allegations of conspiracy.
