Tejas Crash Horror in Dubai: No Ejection Seen as IAF Pilot Dies During Aerobatic Display
An Indian Air Force Tejas fighter jet crashed during an aerobatic display at the Dubai Air Show on 21 November 2025, around 2:10 pm (local time). The HAL-built indigenous light combat aircraft suddenly nosedived mid-manoeuvre and exploded into flames at Al Maktoum International Airport, sending thick smoke into the sky and causing panic among spectators.
The crash occurred during a high-speed manoeuvre. Eyewitness videos showed the jet entering a steep dive before hitting the ground and erupting in a massive fireball.
Emergency teams rushed to the spot and quickly contained the blaze.
Authorities in Dubai and the Indian Air Force have confirmed the death of the pilot, stating that no ejection was observed before impact.
The IAF has ordered a court of inquiry to determine the cause of the crash.
Aerial displays at the air show were suspended following the incident, and visitors were seen leaving the venue in shock. The crash has raised concerns around air safety and cast a shadow over the Tejas programme, a key symbol of India’s indigenous aerospace capabilities.
