Mirzapur Shock: Underwear-Clad Thief Caught on CCTV, Police Scramble After Video Goes Viral!

A general store in Mirzapur’s Padri Bazaar was burgled late last night, causing unrest among local traders. The incident gained attention after CCTV footage showed the thief entering the shop wearing only underwear and a mask.

According to reports, shop owner Rajendra Agrahari had closed his general store around 9 pm. Early in the morning, his son Brijesh noticed that the shop door was open while taking his children to the Shri Gyananand Inter College grounds for cricket practice. On checking, he found the front lock broken and coins along with some currency notes worth approximately ₹2,000 missing from the cash box.

Brijesh reviewed the CCTV footage and discovered a young man in underwear committing the theft. He informed his father immediately, following which a complaint was filed at the local police station. A sub-inspector reached the spot nearly one and a half hours after the call. Initially, he seemed reluctant to take the matter seriously, but after watching the footage, he downloaded the video and initiated a search for the accused.

Station House Officer Ajit Kumar Singh assured that the thief would be identified and arrested soon, and the case would be resolved at the earliest.
