Meerut Shock: Woman Says Husband Beat Her, Installed CCTV Even in Bedroom to Monitor Her 24/7
A woman in Meerut’s Brahmapuri area has levelled serious allegations against her husband, accusing him of physical assault, constant surveillance and restricting her freedom. Police have registered a case and begun an inquiry.
The woman, Shaheen, told police that her husband Rajesh had installed CCTV cameras throughout their house, including inside the bedroom, and monitored her round the clock due to suspicion. She alleged that he frequently beat her, often locking her in a room before assaulting her.
Shaheen, who earlier lived in Kolkata and worked as a bar dancer, said she met Rajesh there and married him three years ago. She later learned that Rajesh was already married and had children, information he allegedly hid from her. The couple also has a child together.
Shaheen claimed that Rajesh imposed strict restrictions on her, prevented her from going out, and threatened to throw her out of the house, even though the property is in her name. Rajesh reportedly works in GST billing.
Police have filed a case based on her complaint and are investigating the matter seriously, terming it an instance of rising domestic disputes in Meerut.
