Lucknow Tragedy: Class 11 Student Dies in Crash with School Bus — Bullet Gifted for Good Marks Turns Fatal

Lucknow — A tragic road accident took place on Friday morning near Stella Marie School in Sector-H, where two students riding a Bullet motorcycle without helmets collided with a parked school bus.

Vaibhav Kumar Jha (17), a Class 11 student, died on the spot, while his friend Shashwat Dev Gautam sustained minor injuries. The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. when the duo was on their way to school. Hearing the crash, staff and students rushed to help and took both to Lokbandhu Hospital. Doctors declared Vaibhav dead, while Shashwat was discharged after first aid.

Police said the bus belonged to Stella Marie School and had arrived to take students on a picnic. Vaibhav, who was also to join the trip, lost his life just meters from the school gate. His family, residents of Madhuvan Nagar, requested no legal action.

Vaibhav was the only son of advocate Santosh Kumar Jha and Kanaklata, and had recently topped his high school exams. His father had gifted him the Bullet just 22 days ago for his academic success. Vaibhav reportedly left home wearing a helmet but gave it to his friend on the way, which likely saved Shashwat’s life.

The school held a condolence meeting where teachers and students paid tribute, describing Vaibhav as a bright and disciplined student. His mother, who dreamed of seeing him become an IPS officer, broke down clutching his photograph.
