Italian Couple Re-Marry in Varanasi With Full Hindu Rituals — Internet Calls It ‘Pure Love for Indian Culture’

An Italian couple, Antolia and Glorius, has gone viral after reaffirming their marriage in Varanasi through traditional Hindu rituals. Deeply inspired by Indian culture, the couple performed a complete Hindu-style wedding at the Navdurga Temple in Kashi, with pandits officiating the ceremony.

The couple took the saptapadi (seven sacred rounds), exchanged jaimala, performed sindoor, and even carried out kanyadaan, embracing every Indian custom with devotion. The rituals were conducted by Acharya Manoj Mishra, along with pandits Vikas, Anand and Prakash.

Expressing her joy, bride Glorius said the Hindu ceremony brought her “great peace,” adding that she loved applying sindoor and deeply appreciated the explanations of the seven vows. The mantras were translated into English for the couple. Acharya Manoj Mishra also assigned them the Kashyap gotra.

The couple married in Italy last month after knowing each other for ten years. During their India visit post-wedding, they were so moved by the culture of Kashi that they decided to marry again with Hindu rituals. They reached Varanasi on November 10, contacted the priest through a guide, and their ceremony was set for November 11. They also purchased a red saree and traditional attire for the occasion.

As their families could not attend, Antolia’s chosen father and brother performed the required rituals.
