Gurugram Live-In Couple Arrested for Brutal Murder of Co-Worker — “Pressured for Sex,” Say Accused

A shocking revelation has emerged in the Sonpal murder case from Gurugram. Police have arrested Kushalpal Singh alias Kaushal and his live-in partner Bhavna for allegedly killing their colleague Sonpal (40) after he reportedly pressured the couple for sexual favours.

Police said Sonpal, who worked with Kushalpal at a private factory in IMT Manesar, had repeatedly insisted that Kaushal “befriend” or allow access to his live-in partner Bhavna. The couple claimed they were enraged and decided to “teach him a lesson.”

On 4 October, the couple took Sonpal on a bike—on the pretext of a ride to Mathura.

When they reached Kosi Border via KMP Expressway, Kaushal hit Sonpal on the head with a helmet. Moments later, he stabbed him 7–8 times in the neck, killing him on the spot.

The two then dumped the body in Kosi Kalan (Mathura) and fled.

Sonpal had told his wife he was returning home that day but never reached. His phone also went off.

After his brother-in-law filed a missing complaint on 7 November, police traced Kaushal and arrested him from Panchgaon; Bhavna was arrested the next day from Manesar.

Based on Kaushal’s confession, police recovered the knife, the helmet, and the stolen motorcycle used in the crime. Sonpal’s body was also recovered accordingly.

Both accused are now under interrogation.
