Ghazipur Twist: ‘Dowry Murder Victim’ Found Alive in Gwalior — Police Expose False Case Filed by Her Family
Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh — In a stunning revelation, police have found alive a woman who was earlier reported as murdered for dowry. The “victim,” identified as Ruchi, was discovered living with her lover in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, exposing the entire dowry murder case as fabricated.
The case originated from Barhapar Bhojurai village under Sadat police station. In 2023, Ruchi had married Rajendra Yadav, a resident of Hathaura, Khanpur police station area. On October 3, Ruchi’s mother, Rajwanti Devi, filed a complaint accusing her in-laws of killing her daughter and disposing of her body. Based on the complaint, police booked Rajendra, his mother Kamli Devi, and six others for dowry murder and body disappearance.
However, during investigation, CO Saidpur Ramakrishna Tiwari traced Ruchi’s mobile location to Gwalior, where she was found living with her lover Gajendra Yadav. She confessed that her marriage was against her will and that she had been in love with Gajendra since Class 10.
Police confirmed the dowry death allegations were false and fabricated. The woman was brought back to Ghazipur and presented before the court after medical examination.
Ruchi’s husband, Rajendra Ram, said his family had been falsely implicated and demanded strict action against those who filed the fake case. His mother, Kamli Devi, echoed the demand, saying they were harassed over false accusations despite knowing Ruchi’s affair.
Officials said legal action is being initiated against those responsible for filing the false dowry death case.
