Delhi: Pitbull Rips Off 6-Year-Old’s Ear in Prem Nagar — Owner Arrested After Shocking CCTV Footage
A 6-year-old boy was severely injured after a pitbull attacked him in Delhi’s Prem Nagar, leading to the arrest of the dog’s owner, police said. CCTV footage showed the child playing moments before the dog charged at him.
Locals pulled the boy from the dog’s grip, with one neighbour seen carrying the child’s severed ear to prevent it from getting lost. Police received a PCR call at 5:38 pm on November 23 and learned the boy had been rushed to hospital.
The pitbull, owned by Rajesh Pal, 50, allegedly came from a neighbour’s house and mauled the child, causing deep head injuries and tearing off his right ear. The boy was taken to BSA Hospital and later shifted to Safdarjung Hospital for further treatment.
The victim’s family said the dog had attacked four children earlier, but no action was taken despite complaints.
