Bhopal Shock: 70-Year-Old Woman Locked in Room by Her Own Children for 2.5 Years, Rescued by Police
Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh — In a heartbreaking incident, police rescued a 70-year-old woman who had been locked inside a room for nearly two and a half years by her own son and daughter in Kalpana Nagar, under Piplani police station limits.
According to police, the elderly woman lived with her son Ajay Saini and daughter Sonakshi Saini after the death of her husband. Both children are reportedly mentally unstable and had confined their mother inside a room for years.
The case came to light when neighbours, concerned that the woman had not been seen for months, alerted the police. Acting swiftly, a police team reached the spot and found the woman lying weak and frail on the floor. She was immediately rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Additional DCP (Zone 2) Gautam Solanki confirmed the rescue operation, stating that the woman was in poor health and has been admitted for medical care. Since both her children are mentally unstable, no case has been registered yet.
