Bengaluru Man Loses ₹1.29 Crore in Shocking Dating-App Investment Scam!

A 42-year-old Bengaluru resident was allegedly cheated of over ₹1.29 crore after fraudsters he met on the QuackQuack dating app lured him into a fake investment scheme.

According to the FIR filed on 7 November, the victim, Jagadish C, was contacted by unidentified individuals, including a woman named Meghana Reddy, who allegedly gained his trust by claiming she wanted to build an old-age home in his father’s name. He was then persuaded to invest in a website promising high returns from international stock markets.

Between 5 and 6 November, Jagadish transferred ₹1,29,33,253 through multiple RTGS and NEFT transactions. After the payments, he received neither returns nor a refund, prompting him to approach the police.

The North CEN Police have registered a case under the IT Act, 2000 and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and an investigation is underway to trace the accused and recover the money.
