Agra Dentist Ends Life After Constant Threats — Suicide Note Names Gorakhpur Woman and Family!

Agra: A young dentist, Dr Piyush Singh, died by suicide in Agra after allegedly injecting himself with an anaesthetic overdose. A suicide note recovered from his room named a woman from Gorakhpur and three of her family members as responsible for driving him to take this step.

According to the family, 30-year-old Piyush had been in a relationship with the woman for nearly three years. When her family came to know of the relationship, they allegedly began threatening him and even used police contacts to intimidate him. The woman is scheduled to get married on 25 November.

Piyush’s 75-year-old father, Mahipal Singh, said his son had completed BDS from Maharana Pratap Medical College, Kanpur, and had been working at a clinic. He returned home six months ago and appeared disturbed but never revealed the reason.

What the suicide note said:

In his note, Piyush wrote that he was ending his life because the woman’s family had been threatening him repeatedly. He listed the names, phone numbers and addresses of four people whom he held responsible. He also wrote that he had received threats through police connections and even got a call from Gorakhpur Police. The dentist mentioned that more evidence was saved on his mobile phone and also wrote his phone password for the family.

Relationship details surface:

His younger brother, Ayush, said Piyush met the woman on Snapchat three years ago. She used to meet him in Lucknow. After the relationship ended, the woman’s family allegedly continued to pressure and threaten him mentally. Piyush had also received repeated calls from Women’s Helpline 1090, making him fear he might be framed in a false case.

The family stated that they had filed a written complaint at Kamla Nagar police station on 17 November, but no action was taken.

The incident:

On Saturday night, Piyush had dinner with his father at 9 p.m. and later went to his room on the third floor. When his brother returned around 11:30 p.m., he found Piyush unconscious with an injection and syringe lying beside him. He was rushed to a hospital and later referred to SN Medical College, where he died.

Police reached the spot around 2 a.m. and recovered the suicide note. Forensic teams also seized an empty bottle of anaesthetic injection. Preliminary investigation suggests he died due to an overdose, though the postmortem report did not clearly state the cause.

Legal action initiated:

A petition had already been sent to the authorities on 17 November by a Delhi High Court advocate, a relative of Piyush, stating that the relationship between Piyush and the woman was consensual and that he was being harassed.

According to the family, constant threats from the woman’s family, repeated calls to 1090, and fear of false allegations pushed him into depression. They also claimed that Piyush had attempted suicide earlier.

Police say further investigation is underway, and action will follow based on forensic findings and digital evidence from Piyush’s phone.
