Jabalpur: Traffic Constable Carries Injured Woman on Shoulder After Garba Night Accident, Video Goes Viral
Jabalpur, MP – A late-night road accident during Navratri celebrations in Jabalpur has highlighted the courage of a traffic constable whose quick action likely saved a young woman’s life.
The woman, returning home after playing Garba near Janaki Raman College, was hit by a vehicle and suffered severe leg injuries. Unable to walk and with no immediate help from bystanders, she lay on the road as the crowd looked on.
At that moment, Traffic Constable Jitendra Dubey rushed to the spot, lifted the injured woman onto his shoulders, and ran to a nearby private hospital. Heavy festive traffic meant waiting for an ambulance could have delayed treatment.
His swift decision ensured the woman received timely medical care. A video of Constable Dubey carrying her on his shoulders has since gone viral on social media, earning widespread praise.
Police officials later said traffic staff are trained and expected to stay alert, proactive, and self-motivated to assist citizens at all times, especially during festivals.
