Buried in a Drum: Husband’s Chilling Confession Shocks Tamil Nadu — 26-Year-Old Wife Killed Over ‘Fidelity Doubts
Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu — In a shocking revelation near Gummidipoondi, police have recovered the body of a 26-year-old woman, two months after her parents filed a missing complaint. Investigations revealed that her husband, Silambarasan (30), a painter from Thurapallam village, allegedly strangled his wife Priya (26) to death over suspicions of infidelity and disposed of her body by sealing it inside a drum and burying it near a riverbank.
According to police, Priya had frequent quarrels with her husband, who often accused her of having an extramarital affair. She had left his house several times to stay with her parents in Periyapalayam, but each time, she was persuaded to return.
When Priya went missing in August, her parents questioned Silambarasan, who allegedly gave vague replies. They later lodged a complaint with the Arambakkam Police. The case took a turn when Priya’s father recently visited her marital home and was told she had gone shopping. However, her children revealed they had not seen their mother for nearly two months, raising suspicion.
Police detained Silambarasan for questioning. During interrogation, he confessed to killing his wife on August 14 after a heated argument. He admitted to stuffing her body into a drum, transporting it on a bike, and burying it about 3 km from his house.
Silambarasan was arrested on Tuesday, and further investigations are underway.
