Auraiya Tragedy: Husband Ends Life After Wife’s Affair Exposed Through WhatsApp Videos


 A 28-year-old farmer, Ashwani Shakya, a resident of Majra Nagla Naya under Gram Panchayat Airwa Tikta, was found dead on Tuesday morning after allegedly dying by suicide. He reportedly hanged himself from a neem tree near a village water tank using a handkerchief.


According to villagers, Ashwani had been mentally disturbed for days after receiving videos and photos of his wife with her lover on his mobile phone. The messages were allegedly sent repeatedly by the lover, pushing him into deep distress.


Ashwani, son of Vinod Kumar, earned a living through farming and labour work. He had left his wife, Rajni, at her maternal village Dipara (Barru) under the Bela police station area on October 2. Soon after, Rajni reportedly went away with her lover.


The deceased is survived by two sons and one daughter. Rajni took the daughter with her, while the two sons lived with Ashwani.


On Monday night, Ashwani attended a village feast at the home of Meena Devi, the village head’s wife, and left around 10 p.m. saying he would return home. The next morning, villagers found him hanging from a neem tree near the water tank and immediately alerted his family.


Police recovered a mobile phone from Ashwani’s pocket and sent the body for post-mortem. His grieving relatives have accused his wife and her lover of harassment, claiming the repeated sending of videos drove him to suicide.


Station House Officer Jeetmal Chaudhary confirmed the incident, stating that the police have obtained some videos shown by villagers and that action will be taken once a formal complaint is received.
