Varanasi: Woman Slaps Harasser, Later Abused by Accused’s Relatives; Video Sparks Outrage

 


In Varanasi, a woman who confronted and slapped her harasser in public has faced further humiliation. After the accused was arrested, his relatives verbally abused and insulted her, with a video showing a man hurling abuses as onlookers stood by, smiling and recording.


Earlier, CCTV footage surfaced showing the accused on a scooty inappropriately touching the woman. Police have arrested him, and the incident has triggered anger over public apathy and victim-shaming.
