SP Leader Kaish Khaan Caught Hiding Under Mattress, Arrested in Kannauj
In Kannauj, police arrested Samajwadi Party leader Kaish Khaan from his neighbourhood. Despite the District Magistrate’s order to stay out of the district, the accused leader was hiding at his cousin’s house.
When police arrived, Khaan tried to evade arrest by covering himself with a mattress and lying on a loft. A policeman climbed onto a chair, removed the mattress, and found him hiding. He was then brought down and taken into custody. A video of the entire incident has surfaced, drawing a large crowd during the action.
Kaish Khaan earlier served as the district treasurer of SP and is considered close to party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Several criminal cases are registered against him at the Kotwali police station. He has also faced disputes over alleged encroachment of mosque land. Earlier this year, on 6 January, his marriage hall was demolished with a bulldozer, and action was also taken against him under the Goonda Act. Recently, on 25 July, Akhilesh Yadav had visited his house in Kannauj.
