Palwal Man Alleges Wife Hid Marriage to Secure Delhi Police Job – Case Echoes Jyoti Maurya Row

Palwal (Haryana) – A controversial case of alleged betrayal has surfaced in Palwal, drawing parallels to the much-talked-about Jyoti Maurya–Alok Maurya dispute in Uttar Pradesh.

Pitam (26), a resident of Barauli village, claims his wife concealed her marital status to obtain a Delhi Police job. According to Pitam, he met the woman in 2021 at his library in Rajiv Nagar, where he trained youth for government exams. Their relationship grew, and they married on 4 January 2023 at Arya Samaj Mandir, Ballabhgarh.

After marriage, the couple shifted to a rented flat. Pitam says he sold his library and part of his land to fund his wife’s studies and preparation, assisting her through both written and physical exams. During verification, he alleges, she declared herself unmarried.

The woman was selected for Delhi Police training in February 2024. After completing training in February 2025, she allegedly returned to her parental home and refused to live with Pitam.

Pitam has filed complaints with the Haryana Chief Minister, Delhi Police Commissioner, and the National Human Rights Commission, alleging fraud and threats. He has also moved court under Section 9 (Restitution of Conjugal Rights), with the next hearing scheduled for February 2026.

This case once again raises questions over deception in relationships and misuse of official recruitment processes.
