Lucknow Telecaller Missing Since August 29, Friend Arrested in Connection
Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Sakshi, a telecaller posted at Dial-112, has been missing since August 29, prompting an ongoing investigation by Lucknow police. Authorities have arrested her friend, Sachin Jaiswal, and recovered her mobile phone from him.
Sakshi’s mother, Sangeeta Verma of Paper Mill Colony, filed a complaint alleging that Sachin lured her daughter away. According to the investigation, Sakshi left with Sachin on a scooter to the Gautampalli Riverfront on the night of August 29, after which she disappeared. A local reportedly saw her jump into the river, though her body has not been recovered.
During interrogation, Sachin, who works for Zepto in Hazratganj and befriended Sakshi through Instagram, claimed he does not know her whereabouts. The police also questioned a young relative of Sakshi over whom she and Sachin reportedly had a fight, but no leads emerged.
Metropolitan Inspector Akhilesh Kumar Mishra confirmed that searches were conducted along the Gomti River, but Sakshi remains missing.
Sakshi’s mother has expressed dissatisfaction with the investigation, calling for the case to be handled by the Crime Branch or SIT. She also demanded rigorous interrogation of Sachin during his jail remand.
