Last party celebrated in ICU: Daughter battling cancer said – 'Papa bring cake, we have to live our last moments laughing'

Udaipur/Jalore – A heart-wrenching story has emerged from Rajasthan, where 27-year-old Priyanka alias Pihu, battling a rare bone cancer, Ewing Sarcoma, celebrated her “last moments” by cutting a cake inside the ICU—just seven days before her death.

On 25 August, Priyanka’s in-laws and family gathered at Pacific Hospital, Udaipur. Lying on a hospital bed, attached to machines, she suddenly asked her father: “Papa, bring a cake. I want to celebrate my last moments. Write Pihu–Lucky on it.”

Her father, jeweller Narpat Singh of Jalore, broke down as he fulfilled her wish. Priyanka cut the cake with her husband Lakshyaraj Singh, a builder from Raniwada, and fed pieces to everyone, saying: “I want to die laughing.”

On 2 September at 1 pm, Priyanka breathed her last—still smiling. Just 20 minutes before her death, she asked her brother Jaipal to eat food, assuring him she wasn’t “going anywhere.”

Priyanka, the third among four siblings, was bright in studies—BBA graduate and CA Inter qualified. She was married in January 2023, but soon after, leg pain led to the devastating diagnosis. Despite three spine surgeries and radiation, doctors gave up hope by August 2025.

Her father recalls: “That day even the doctors and hospital staff cried. My daughter wanted to leave this world with a smile, and she did. She has taught us how to live.”
