Indore: Constable Dies After Snake Bite While Trying to Catch Snake

Indore – In a tragic incident, Constable Santosh Choudhary, posted in the 1st Battalion of SAF at Sadar Bazar, lost his life after being bitten by a snake on Saturday night.

Around 10 pm, Santosh was called to rescue a snake hiding in a window. Known for his experience in catching snakes, he attempted to handle it but was bitten on his right hand. Despite being rushed to hospital and given anti-venom, the venom spread quickly and he could not be saved.

Santosh, who had served the police force for 17 years, is survived by his wife and two children. His colleagues and seniors praised him as a brave and dedicated officer. The battalion commandant recommended that he be honoured as a martyr for his service.

A video of the incident, now viral on social media, shows the moment Santosh attempted the rescue before the snake struck. The incident highlights the risks faced by officers and the dangers of snake handling without full protective measures.
